Terms and Conditions
By agreeing to our terms and conditions, you hereby release the Travel Agency PaRa Travels from any and all responsibility and from any liability for:
- any losses, injuries, death or damages that you may sustain;
- any lost income, expenses or costs you may incur;
- any injuries, death or damage that you may cause to others, during, because of, arising out of or in relation to your participation in the tour.
By agreeing to our terms and conditions, you hereby waive your right to sue the Travel Agency PaRa Travels and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Travel Agency PaRa Travels against and from all claims, demands, actions, causes of action, suits, debts, liabilities, demands, judgments and damages whatsoever, which may be brought against or sought from the Instructor because of, arising out of, in connection with or in relation to your participation in the activity, unless in the case of gross negligence of the Travel Agency PaRa Travels.
PaRa Travels acts according to the special scheme for travel agents (in Dutch: bijzondere regeling voor reisbureaus).
PaRa Travels offers the lowest prices guaranteed for pre-booked tours on the internet. This means that if you find online a tour elsewhere from a legal company registered at the Chamber of Commerce, with the exact same activities included as the ones from the same PaRa Travels tour, you can do this tour for the same price at the Travel Agency PaRa Travels.
All PaRa Travels Machu Picchu hikes are subject to itinerary changes based on a variety of circumstances. PaRa Travels reserves the right to cancel or change any trip due to river, road, weather conditions, epidemics, or political climate. We also reserve the right to cancel any trip due to client unsuitability because of age, health, poor fitness, intoxication etc.
Any missed tours due to the above listed incidences (e.g. weather conditions or political climate) cannot be refunded or recuperated. Of course PaRa Travels will do everything it is able to do to look together for a solution.
The price and duration of a hiking trip will never change once you’re registered. Payments are not refundable for itinerary changes or public land closures. If a trip is cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control a trip credit equal to the full amount paid will be issued.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
PaRa Travels reserves the right to cancel trips. PaRa Travels is not responsible for additional expenses incurred by preparing for the trip (for example: non-refundable advance purchase air tickets, clothing, equipment, visa fees, medical expenses, etc.). Payments are not refundable for itinerary changes or public land closures. Any cancelled tours due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g. river, road, weather conditions, epidemics, or political climate) cannot be refunded.
Please note that this payment is required to purchase entrance tickets and other services that need to be pre-booked, all subject to availability. Once you have paid us, we cannot refund the amount you have paid since we will directly buy your entrance tickets and will immediately reserve other services that need to be pre-booked for all your trails.
After your payment and booking confirmation, your outstanding balance is due when you arrive in Cusco either 24 hours prior to departure or during your briefing session. In the case of unexpected impediment, the entire due amount must still be paid either in Cusco or via bank transfer. Failure to pay any outstanding balances prior to departure will result in the inability to partake in your trek. Final acceptance of any participant is subject to receipt and review of all required forms, documents, and payment.
The COVID-19 insurance can be added to your tour(s) and covers all incurred and outstanding costs associated with the booked tour(s). This does not include the costs of the insurance itself. In the event of unexpected absence due to COVID-19 (i.e. not being able to travel due to country regulations, state of lockdown in the country of destination, etc.), the outstanding costs will be waived and the paid deposit will be refunded to the client. In particular, this insurance does not cover other reasons for unexpected absence, such as illnesses including COVID-19, missed transport, etc. The costs for this insurance differs per tour.
Your privacy is important to us. It is PaRa Travels policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect from you across our website, https://www.para-travels.com, and other sites we own and operate.
We only ask for personal information when we truly need it to provide a service to you. We collect it by fair and lawful means, with your knowledge and consent. We also let you know why we’re collecting it and how it will be used.
We only retain collected information for as long as necessary to provide you with your requested service. What data we store, we’ll protect within commercially acceptable means to prevent loss and theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification.
We don’t share any personally identifying information publicly or with third-parties, except when required to by law.
Our website may link to external sites that are not operated by us. Please be aware that we have no control over the content and practices of these sites, and cannot accept responsibility or liability for their respective privacy policies.
You are free to refuse our request for your personal information, with the understanding that we may be unable to provide you with some of your desired services.

If you wish to change the date of departure/ and or route of your trek after making the reservation/deposit, there will be a $50 per person fee to make the change, except if the change is made in the 48 hours prior to the trek, in which case the change will cost $100 per person. Changes can only be made in case of availability for the changed tour.
We require medical releases for prospective guests over 70 years of age and for various circumstances such as history of cardiovascular disease, chronic illness, and other conditions and factors. Let know to the guides if you consume any medical tab, pill or chronic illness to prevent the any accident or emergency case, if you have the first aid kit bring for the trail will be very useful for member’s hikers.
For your protection, we strongly recommend the purchase of a travel insurance. A travel insurance provides you with trip cancellation or interruption, travel delay, medical expenses, emergency assistance, baggage and baggage delay coverage to protect your financial investment. Medical coverage purchased with your policy will also satisfy our requirement for health insurance.
